MY JOURNEY
THE LONG ROAD BACK
Not a highlight reel. The route I actually walked — in order, with the parts I would rather skip.

WHERE IT STARTED
I have spent more than forty years working with leaders, organizations, communities and individuals searching for answers. For a long stretch of it I was searching too, and hiding it well.
This page is the order of events — what I built, what it cost, what turned it around, and why I now spend my time making room for other people's stories.

THE CHAPTERS
1
EARLY YEARS
Hard work was the family religion. I learned to produce long before I learned to rest.
4
THE TURN
One honest conversation I could not argue my way out of. I stopped defending and started listening.
2
THE CLIMB
Degrees, titles, rooms I had wanted to be in. From the outside it looked finished.
5
THE REBUILD
Small repeated choices: tell the truth, show up, make it right, do it again tomorrow.
3
THE COST
What I gained in standing I lost in presence. The people closest to me paid for it first.
6
THE WORK
Studios, prisons, classrooms, kitchen tables — and eventually a podcast called The Rock.

“I COULDN'T THINK MY WAY OUT.
I HAD TO WALK IT.”

WHAT THE ROAD TAUGHT ME
DIRECTION OVER SPEED
Moving fast in the wrong direction is still lost.
PEOPLE OVER PROOF
Being right is cheap. Being present costs something.
BEGIN AGAIN
Every morning is an unearned second chance.
FINISH WELL
Legacy is what keeps working after you stop talking.

WHERE IT LEADS
WHAT I DO WITH IT NOW
> Host conversations that give ordinary people a hearing.
> Walk with returning citizens and their families.
> Fund second chances through the foundations.
> Equip leaders who serve instead of perform.
